Energy Audits DIN EN 16247-1

Performing regular energy audits is mandatory for companies and organizations that are not classified as small or medium-sized enterprises (SMEs). According to the Energy Services Act (EDL-G), these companies and organizations must carry out an energy audit in accordance with DIN EN 16247-1 every four years or introduce an energy management system in accordance with ISO 50001 or an environmental management system in accordance with EMAS. In addition, carrying out an energy audit is also a positive instrument for analyzing your energy use, for creating measures to increase your energy efficiency and reduce your energy costs. Ultimately this also reduces your CO2 emissions.

Qualified Auditors

An energy audit may only be carried out by a qualified and independent auditor with the appropriate expertise and professional experience. Our auditors are of course qualified to carry out the energy audits and are recognized by the official BAFA body in Germany (see BAFA auditors list).

Energy Audit Process

During the energy audit process, we analyze your energy consumption at different levels and evaluate the energy requirements of the relevant processes and systems in your company. Building on this, we develop proposals for reducing your energy costs and increasing your energy efficiency.

Background of the energy audit

The obligation to carry out energy audits is based on the implementation of the EU Energy Efficiency Directive 2012/27. Its aim is to improve energy efficiency in companies and to achieve the goal of reducing CO2 emissions in Europe.

Your Advantages

In a detailed meeting, we will explain the most important results of the energy audit to you. You get a clear and understandable overview:

  • about your company's energy procurement and costs,
  • of the use of energy in the company and the important consumers and consumption groups,
  • about proposals for measures to increase your energy efficiency and to reduce energy costs, including amortization and investment calculations.

Of course you will also receive a detailed report that summarizes all the findings for you. Everything will be described with understandable tables and explanatory graphics.
