We are convinced that we need to rethink the traditional way of doing business. Both the way we deal with people and our earth have reached noticeable limits for us. We have reached a point where we feel that it cannot go on like this. Energy efficiency, environmental protection and sustainability, properly lived and used, are the best answers for us to actively shape the future now. Our values at blueContec are therefore based on sustainability, community and cooperation, passion for our mission and freedom. We want to actively bring this into the discussion and each of our projects.

In the 13 years of his affiliation with TUI Deutschland, Andreas Koch managed the areas of quality and environmental management and hotel consulting & product development. Andreas Koch is a co-founder and was honorary chairman of the Futouris e.V. sustainability initiative for five years. In 2012 he founded blueContec GmbH together with Arne Ahrens and is one of the three Managing Directors.
Focus: energy consulting, energy audit, training courses and seminars
After training in building trade, Torsten Merker studied industrial engineering. This was followed by engineering positions at LURGI and HOCHTIEF AG as well as two positions as Managing Directors in medium-sized companies, among others, at a university-related project management company for energy and resource efficiency. Since 2006 he has been a consultant for energy and resource efficiency. T

After his training as a chef in the upscale gastronomy, Harald Gratenau worked in various top restaurants. With the beginning of his studies at the Hotelfachschule Hamburg, he already supported
the bluecontec consulting assignment for the CPH Hotelkooperation (CPH goes Green) during his studies. Since January 2022, Harald Gratenau has been working as a project manager. In addition to
organizational matters, the focus of his work is on the implementation of sustainable concepts in practice.
Maria is a Biologist, specialized in sustainability in Tourism. During 1993-2012 she gained extensive experience working for the leading Greek hotel chain GRECOTEL S.A. with TUI AG. She had been responsible for 25 hotels in Greece, organizing their sustainable management, food safety and hygiene. As a manager of that Division, she achieved several national and international recognitions and awards. Maria currently works as Sustainability consultant in Hospitality in cooperation with us in Germany.
